Off to ND

Tomorrow morning my trip back East begins. My mom is going to drive with me to ND where we will stay until Sunday. My dad is driving up later to join us, and Mario is driving in from Detroit after work. Joey will go to his first football game...well, actually a scrimmage, but the Blue and Gold game is always fun. Sunday Mario and I are going to drive to Detroit so he can go to work on Monday...and I'm thinking of hanging out there until Tuesday. We shall see how things go. Meanwhile, we are all still sick. I don't feel bad at all, but am still congested and coughing a little. I think it's just your average cold but the recovery has been slow probably because of all of this travel. But it is worth it b/c we are having a great time.

Road Trip

I am so behind on my posts, it is sad. I have a "Happy Easter" post to share, and then some about preparing for and taking our trip. I'll try to catch you up. So, last Thursday we left Ashburn, VA at 11am and arrived in Detroit, MI at 10:00pm. The boys were really great on their first road trip together. It took a long time because every stop took between 35-50 minutes. It's not easy for one person to juggle two kids on a road trip, but we managed. Joey slept between stops and MJ watched a few movies and told me about all the things he saw on the road. LOTS of Trucks!

We spent Friday - Sunday at Notre Dame. Mario was at a football coaches conference for Friday and Saturday. MJ, Joey, and I just hung out at ND and met up with Aunt Kathy who is a Sophomore there. There happened to be this fun kid thing going on North Quad with a petting zoo and other fun games for kids, so we checked that out. Sunday we went to church at the Basilica where we got married (which is always so fun to go back to). MJ was adorable on campus and kept telling us about all the things he saw (Golden Dome, Grotto, Touchdown Jesus). He really loved the Basilica and was so quiet and in awe of the atmosphere. After church he kept talking about getting "more Jesus" as we walked around campus, it was pretty cute.

Now Mario is back in Michigan for work, and I'm in St. Louis visiting my parents and Erin and Dave. Hopefully I can get the pictures to post so I can share some of our adventures with you. If not, I'll add them when we return home next Wednesday.
