Good Morning!

Usually, my day begins around 7-7:30ish when MJ makes his way into our room and says, "Good morning, Mommy" "Good morning, Joey." I didn't get the best picture of them, but we really had a cute moment. If only we all felt as good as we did this morning. Well, maybe the boys do. MJ's "mystery fever" I think was just a cold. Well, I'm guessing that b/c I'm sick now. I hope we are all better by Easter.

One Week

So, I've been notified that it has been 1 week since my last post. I've had a bunch of things I've thought about posting, but I never got around to it. I'd like to pretend I've been busy doing important things, but really, I developed an even worse obsession than blogs.... craigslist. I don't know what came over me, but last week I was on a hunt for some new-used things. I'm trying to keep it in check now, but I did get some useful items. A Graco Duoglider for $65, a Jumperoo for $25, and a Little Tykes Police Car (like the Cozy Coupe but it looks like a Police Car) for $20. I'll have to share some pictures of these items. It's nice to finally have a double stroller so I can push both of them at the same time. MJ was doing a nice job of walking with us, but sometimes it's nice to keep him contained in the stroller.

So, a lot happened last week.

Starting Monday night, Joey decided he would start going to bed around 8-8:30 instead of 10-10:30. I wasn't sure what I'd think of this new situation. He used to go about 10:30-3 and 3-7. Then he started going 8:30-2, 2-5, 5-8 Or something like that. So, he "gets up" twice in the night, but I am child free after 8:30-9pm. It was kind of accidental, but I guess as Joey has been doing MJs bedtime routine with us, he has been getting sleepy at that time too. For awhile there I was hoping he'd wake up again after 8 so I could give him a bath and put him to bed later. Now, I know to bathe him earlier.

Joey has been smiling and cooing even more. So we've been taking more movies rather than pictures. We've been trying to give Joey more bottles with milk that I've pumped. He still prefers me, but we are working on it.

MJ had a mystery fever Monday night and Tuesday...still kind of around today. He just had a fever but no other symptoms. I was prepared for the worst and was trying to figure out how I could keep Joey and MJ away from each other. But really, the mystery fever wasn't too bad.

MJ has also been potty training himself again. I think I mentioned how the night before Joey was born, MJ decided to be a big boy and poop and pee in the toilet. He hasn't been consistent. But the past few days he's asked to go a few times and actually gone. I've been hesitant to take this on completely b/c we are going on a big road trip from April 12th-23rd. We'll see how this goes.

Finally, last Tuesday we added 3 fish to the fish tank. I'd like to say that all is well, but it looks like one of them isn't going to make it. At least he was only $2.

Oh, one more thing, we got a new camcorder. It is totally amazing! I haven't even played with all of it's features yet, but it is pretty cool. It wasn't cheap, but we plan on making it an investment for our memories.

Back to Business

So, we are attempting to go back to our normal routine pre-Joey. And thankfully, I am able to fit into my old wardrobe so I can run around and do the normal volunteering stuff that I used to do. I am looking for a good before and after picture, I'll have to post that later.

I taught my RE class on Sunday while Mario watching MJ and Joey. Today, I taught the 5 year old class. MJ was watched by the church babysitters and Joey stayed with me (he slept most of the time). Here are a few random pictures of the cuties. MJ is sporting a new shirt that I bought at the consignment sale on Saturday. If there's one near you, you have to try it. There's a bunch in our area that have everything you need for kids. Clothing (maternity, infant-12 years oldish), strollers, cribs, other baby gear, toys. I got a backpack for Mario, 5 pajama sets, 7 shirts, and 6 shorts all for $31. I also got a baby bouncer for $8 since our vibrating function seems to eat batteries.

Can you tell they are brothers?

This is MJ.

This is Joey.

I think MJ is 8 weeks old in his picture. Joey is only 7 weeks old. I'll have to try this again. If we didn't use digital pictures that have date stamps on them, we'd probably have trouble telling them apart!

Brothers

MJ really loves Joey. And Joey is quite fascinated with MJ too. I'll have to try to get a picture of Mario entertaining Joey sometime. It is quite cute.

Air and Space Museum

We went to the Air and Space Museum on Sunday. MJ had a great time. Mario and I had never been there before, but MJ was there recently with the Suarez family. He kept talking about the big space ship and airplanes that he had seen there, so we thought we should check it out too. When we arrived, he acted as if he knew the place. It seemed like he was trying to show us the things he had seen before. What a cute little tour guide! Oh, and Joey was there too. He slept the whole time.

Hair Dryer

Babies sure are funny about what puts them to sleep. So I was getting ready this morning and I knew Joey was a little sleepy. He likes to hang out in his bouncy chair while I shower and get ready. However, the batteries were dead today so it wouldn't vibrate. He was content to hang out for a bit, but after awhile was ready for some assistance to sleep. I thought I'd just go ahead and dry my hair first, as I recalled that sometimes when MJ was fussy he liked it if we turned the vacuum on. Well, what do ya know? Two minutes after the hair dryer was on, and Joey was out. So, when all was said and done, I had a sleeping baby and my hair looked good. Multitasking is fun!
